CCLI Canada Conferences shift perspectives on directors’ climate liabilities

Building upon previous conferences held in Oxford, UK and Melbourne, Australia, the CCLI recently organised two events to introduce Canadian stakeholders to the risk of climate liabilities for company directors.

The events took place in Vancouver (18 October 2017) and Toronto (20 October 2017), with the CCLI Canada convenors Prof. Janis Sarra (UBC) and Prof. Cynthia Williams (pictured below at Toronto event) leading the discussions focusing on topics such as fiduciary obligations and corporate disclosure in the context of climate-related risks.

Attendants represented diverse groups including institutional investors, legal practitioners, regulators, company directors and academics among others.
